Day 4 of the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge : Green Nails

Hi everyone!

Im back with the Day 4 of the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge!

Today, Im going to show you Green Nails of the challenge.

As of today, the Typhoon Maring ( international name Trami) has gone and we're all happy that everything is going back to normal. I also feel for those who have been affected by the floods, landslides and the likes. I hope and pray that they will stand up and rise again soon.

So, here goes the green nails.
green2.1
As you can see, these are slices of a kiwi fruit. I was thinking of something fresh that is why I came up with this.
green4.1
I started with this apple green based that is so not opaque so I have to do 4 coats of the Caress Apple Green nail polish ( local brand ). It is a frosted nail polish so you can definitely see some shine.
green1.1

I painted the seeds and the core using acrylic paints. I put a blob of paint in the center then drew as many lines from the blob outwards to create the effect of the core.

green3.1

Then I put lots and lots of black dots in between the lines to make the seeds. I let the paint dry for about 10 minutes then sealed the design with a Caronia top coat and that's it!
What do you think of this design?
Watch out for the 5th Challenge!
I will soon create an FB page, twitter, pinterest and tumblr accounts soon so please visit again.

Day 3 of the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge : Yellow Nails

Im again back with Day 3 of the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge!

At work and it's gloomy outside. It's been raining for about 3 days now. We've been having storm in different parts of the country so I really hope that everyone stays safe. Hopefully we wont get inundated just like Ondoy or Typhoon Ketsana back in 2009 and Monsoon Habagat in 2012. It was really devastating to see what's going on around me during and after the floods. Well anyway, I think the rain has stopped a little so that's a good sign, right?

Going back to business, Day 3 is Yellow Nails.

Remember on my last post, I talked about the yellow nail polish I used for the gradient effect for my Orange nails? This is it!

So I used OMG Oh My Golly Banana Boat as my base color. This is not a flashy yellow so I love it. I am really not a fan yellow nail lacquers but I like this one.

As you will notice, OMG Oh My Golly Banana Boat is not quite opaque so probably next time I use this, Ill apply 3 coats instead to achieve the right coverage.

I thought of the design because I'm longing to see the sun again. This reminds me of summer, really cannot say spring because we don't have the season anyway.

Daisies - because they look so delicate and fresh and they're easy to paint!

I used a bright yellow paint for the flowers' pistils and dabbed a little BK Leopard Gold on it so that it would stand out a little. Then, I used white and grey acrylic paints for the petals.

I used my Galaxy phone's camera to take this pic.

So that's Day 3! Hope you're inspired to recreate this. Watch out for Day 4 - Green Nails!

See yah! ♥

Day 2 of 31-Day Nail Art Challenge : Orange Nails

Hi lovelies!
Im back with Day 2 of the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge.
Today, I will show you a really nice design. I thought of doing this design inspired by nature. When I was young, I love to play in the garden, watch butterflies flutter around.

I used yet another local brand, Bobbie, OMG, and Caronia. I missed out on getting the names of the shades but I'll update my blog when I get them. Im just a little busy right now because it's my son's birthday today, I'm in  the office working, I'm an hour behind tmy schedule, and the list goes on and on...

On with the show.

Bobbie is cream based though it's not so opaque that is why I had to add several drops of white nail polish to it to make it a little brighter.

The yellow polish I used is, of course, a local brand, OMG Oh My Golly! It's a light shade of yellow so I thought that this would be perfect for the gradient technique i used in this design. I might also use the same shade for the yellow nails challenge.

Then I used an apple green shade of Caronia, a local brand, for the lush green grass but has ofcourse been covered by the grassy plains and cute flowers.

I used acrylic paint for the rest of the designs. I really think that acrylic paints would bring out the best in your designs. I opt to use it because they are easy to work with.

Since I was thinking of a late afternoon relaxing moment in the garden with my mom, dad and sisters, I decided to use orange and yellow that represents the said time of the day and light green which signifies the fresh grasses as the background.

What do you think of my design?

Would you want to recreate it? Please show me your masterpiece, okay?

Day 1 of 31 - Day Nail Art Challenge : Red Nails

Hi guys!

Ive been wanting to take the 31-Day Nail Art Challenge oh so bad. So, I decided to come up with a daily post to showcase my nail art for the next 31 days!

To start with, let me show you what the challenge is:

As you can see, a challenge of different colors, designs and techniques.  This will surely make the creativity in you come out!

Here it is!

Day 1 of 31 - Day Nail Art Challenge : Red Nails

Here are my red nails. I used local brands that are really cost-effective!

I used Caronia Brick Red, Caress Diamond Grey and OMG Black out. I can not think of a cute design using red nail polish at the moment so I decided on doing this cloud nail art.

Ive been seeing different styles of this design and I really love to do it. Maybe I can redo this with teal, mint green and orange. What do you think?

1st and 2nd photos were taken using my Galaxy phone's camera with flash. The 3rd pic was taken using the same camera with no flash indoor.

There you have it. This is my take on Day 1 of the challenge.

Hope you'll visit again tomorrow to check my Day 2 nails!

First Nail art Blog

Hi everyone!

This is my first nail art blog! Hopefully, in the next comings days, weeks, months or years, I'd have followers. I know I may just be talking to the moon right now but I know, I'll make it big someday.

This is my passion so I want to share it with you. Here it goes...

I have been addicted to nail art lately. I have tried different designs on my nails and I oh so love them all!

My designs may not be of a pro but, what I am proud of, I made all of them my self. Some are inspired by other artists and some are my own creations.

There may be some excess polish around my nails sometimes but I'll make sure to do better everytime I do my nails.

I started my passion for nail art when a friend showed me some pics. I thought, at first, that nail art is just for women who had their nails grown so long to have them painted with some glitters and weird lines.

That has changed seeing the really cute designs that magnificent designers have posted online.

I started buying nail lacquers of different colors. Most are local brands but still are of good quality. Most of the local brands I purchase are:

OMG Oh My Golly!
Caronia

Caress
Bobbie
La Belle
Chic
I also have some BK nail polish

In the next coming blogs, I would be proudly posting my designs so that you guys can see them.

This is just one of my creations.

Thanks to my friend, Graess, who introduced me to nail art. Now, Ive been doing the nails of some friends and family.

Thanks to polish police, ebay, sulit and BK for some of the photos. ;)
